Introduction

TV adverts are important to TV producers and manufacturers because they link together really well, for example, apple, they make a new model near enough every other year and they claim that they are 'unbreakable'. the producers show these adverts on TV so you can have a visual understanding of the product this helps the producers make money as more and more people watch the adverts meaning more money as an outcome.
My advert is going to be a perfume advert because perfume adverts can have anything in it without any meaning towards the perfume and there is more freedom to what you can do when advertising perfume. My plan is to have somebody dance for the advert and in editing, I am planning to have colours flashing over the top

description- AND YOU WHAT WOULD YOU DO FOR LOVE?

This advert is targeted more at 16-25-year-olds because they have used a younger 'attractive' woman which sells to a younger audience because they will think 'she uses it, it must be good'.
The message in this advert is if you use this perfume you will fall in love and find 'your man' and have a certain lifestyle and because she presents herself as bold and confident it sells better as others will want to have the same outgoing lifestyle

This advert is more aimed at 36-50 years and/or higher class people as Julia comes across very much as if she is better than everybody else as she walks on water. So people will think if they use this it will make them feel like God as it seems like you'll be on top of the world.
It would be more beneficial for this age as Julia Roberts is around that same age group
.I don't think there is really a plot and narrative that stands out.

CONCLUSION:
These are both very similar as they both advertise perfume however there are differences as the woman in the first one doesn't act like she is better than everybody else whereas in the second advert she does also with the first advert it is not aimed at more higher class due to the setting whereas the second one it is very much more upper class due to the location and what people are wearing

Section 2

In the first one the lighting is very bright which can show happiness the clothing is more casual showing that it is more of a casual lifestyle without worrying about class and gender. With the props, there is multiple, for example, sunglasses suggesting that it is summertime or that the weather is warm., bedsheets, roses which can represent love or romance, towel, car. There were two props in a baby pink colour which catches the eyes of females and it is a very 'feminine colour'. It also has lots of cuts throughout the advert.

The second adverts lighting is very dull which can give a sad emotion on the viewer however this is to bring out the 'diamonds' to make it seem brighter than it actually is.
the clothing is very upper class as they are in suits and formal dresses.
there also doesn't really contain many cuts it seems very much like a long take until the end where it shows the bottle at the end.

Section 3

In the Lancome advert the sentence 'shine bright like a diamond' is repeated 8 times which tells the audience if you buy the perfume you will shine bright like a diamond.

In the Miss Dior the song the "I/ I'm" is louder giving the audience the feel of independence

Section 4

In the Lancome advert, they use water to portray diamonds to give a sense of elegance and beauty as the water drops float around her and bounce of her hands onto others suggesting she's giving her elegance to others (other noticing the perfume) when the others get involved it suggests they now use the fragrance and are considered 'elegant'

Section 5

In the Miss Dior advert, the first shot type we see is a low angle this suggests that we feel intimidated by her as she seems bigger than us. Another shot we see is a medium close up which allows us to know how she is feeling as we can see her facial expressions a lot better than if it was a wide shot. These shots make her look intimidating because it seems as if she is towering of us giving the impression that she is better than us. They show us her emotions as it's wanting us to know if we use this perfume we will be happy just like Natalie Portman. Every shot in the advert is of her meaning that it's all about her and nobody else. I'd use similar techniques to this as my advert would be based around being strong and independent as a woman and not needing a man.

In the Lancome advert there is mainly close-ups as it helps us see Julia Robert's facial expressions which make the audience believe they will feel like that if they use the perfume. With the other close-ups, it shows us how everyone else feels telling the audience that this is how you feel when you do not use the product The people in the advert are seen as 'higher society' as they are dressed formally and are at a rooftop party. The close-ups of the water help emphasise the idea of the diamonds and how she has them which also links back to the high society impression.

Section 6

In both adverts, they use ethos as they both contain celebrities but also pathos as its giving of positivity about if you use the product you will have a certain lifestyle. the advertising strategy is both are known as 'Transfer' which is where there are positive words/images to suggest that the product is being sold as a positive.

Conclusion

Both perfumes sell a lifestyle however they are targeted at two very different ages
·       In the Lancome advert, it is basically saying don't follow everyone else/ trends be yourself and be different.
Miss Dior advert shows the journey of love/emotions and how they unfold.
I   I believe Miss Dior one is more effective as it gets the point and narrative across better due to the fact it contains dialogue

e    Target Audience Profile

The target audience basis would be either A or B as they have more money to pay for the £190 for the perfume. After creating a survey monkey I found out that the majority are under 18 this means I will have to target it at the age range

My ideal target audience would be under 18 because, my survey monkey results, the under 18's had the highest result out of the rest of the age ranges
g
Discuss the results of your survey monkey

finally, create an audience profile, outlining their age, gender, ideals, beliefs, values, etc.

h       This print based advert is very simple so it isn't too much for the audience to take it. It shows the perfume and the name of it along with the brand which is good as people will know what it is if they are wanting to buy it.
